A Newton County woman was arrested Thursday evening after allegedly stabbing her husband because he deleted a message on his phone.

Deputies from the Newton County Sheriff's Office were called to the home on Fieldview Lane around 8:30 p.m. While en route dispatch operators told deputies that the victim was at a neighbor's home. When they arrived they saw the man standing outside with his shirt off, bleeding from wounds on his chest, stomach and left arm.

The man reportedly told deputies that he and his 24-year-old wife, Idaiominique Porchea Vaughn, got into an argument over a deleted message on his phone. He said she wanted his phone and when he gave it to her, the situation got worse. When the victim attempted to go upstairs and get his clothes his wife stood in his way and threw a glass at him. The glass shattered against the wall and Vaughn used a piece of shattered glass to stab and cut him, according to reports.

Vaughn was arrested and transported to the Newton County Detention Center, where she remains at press time, charged with aggravated assault under the Family Violence Act. The victim was treated by EMS at the scene.
