A large crowd gathered on the Covington Square Friday to watch the season eight finale of The Vampire Diaries.
Some viewers arrived on the Square at noon, setting up seats for the 8 p.m. show. The CW network, which airs The Vampire Diaries was on the Square filming, and shooting commercials, starting at 2 p.m.
At 6 p.m., Todd Lasance and Chris Brochu began signing autographs at The Mystic Grill and Square Perk. The two then conducted a question and answer session, before the show aired.
Area restaurants offered themed specials for the event, and Bradley's Bar-B-Que had a trailer parked on the Square. Bradley's offered "Vamped Out Bar-B-Que Sandwiches; Mystic Grill offered "Grams Fried Chicken Sliders, Salvatore Salmon Crostini, Sausage Tots with AB Positive Sauce and White Oak Steak"; Square Perk offered a "Vampire Latte" and a "Salvatore Sandwich" and Your Pie offered the "Vampire Slayer Pizza."
