It’s a “Vampire Diaries” extravaganza on the square tonight, as the 5th season finale will be shown on the square at the same time it’s airing on TV.
The screening kicks off at 8:15 p.m. and will be shown commercial free.
But the festivities are already ongoing, as LifeSouth is hosting a blood drive on the square now.
The rest of the activities kick off at 6:30 p.m. with a raffle and trivia contest with prizes provided by Warner Bros. and On Location Gifts/Vampire Stalkers. Prizes include sets of the first four seasons of “The Vampire Diaries,” coffee mugs, shot glasses, Halloween costumes and Warner Bros. blankets, tumblers and hats, among other items.
Area businesses, including Scoops, Square Perk and Mystic Grill will also be participating.
After the episode ends, at 9 p.m., attendees will release sky lanterns to commemorate their favorite characters that have died throughout the series.
The CW Network’s Street Team will also be on sight, taking photos and video to post to its website.
Attendees should bring their own chairs or blankets.
The square will not be blocked off and traffic will be allowed to flow as usual.
