Hot weather will continue through the week for Covington residents.

The maximum temperature average for this past weekend was around 90 degrees, and this week should get even hotter.
Right now the weather is mostly sunny at about 90 degrees. The high is set to reach 95 degrees today, according to the National Weather Service. The average high for early June is about 80 degrees.

Wednesday is expected to be even hotter and brighter. The clouds are expected to dissipate and the temperature is expected to climb to 97 degrees.

Thursday is expected to have a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms and will cool down slightly to a high of 94. Friday should be similar to Thursday, with a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms and a high of 95 degrees.

The weekend will likely bring little relief, with highs in the mid 90s and a minimal chance of rain.
