Packing snacks and drinks for when you're on the go is frugal and fabulous, but rethink that bottled water. Bottled water is not only expensive, it's not environmentally friendly and its quality is largely unregulated.

If you're worried about the quality of your home's drinking water, you can invest in a water filtration system for your kitchen sink and a couple of travel safe bottles.

Fill up at home for a fraction of the cost of all those bottled waters your family consumes each day.
You won't contribute to landfills with empty plastic bottles, you won't have to worry about high levels of BPA (a harmful chemical found in some plastic that can leech into liquids), and you'll save money too.
