Rain may return for the start of the work week, with a 60 percent chance of rain or a thunderstorm, and a high of 74.

Rainfall is well below average since the first of the year, with 6.49-inches reported at the FFA-FCcLA Center in Newton County. Average rainfall for the first two months of the year is around nine inches. Rainfall is about 60 percent of average since Dec. 1.
