The county's recycling centers on Covington ByPass, McGiboney and Piper roads are all closing shortly because there is too much ice at those locations. They will reopen at noon on Friday, said Laurie Riley, with the Newton County Department of Development Services.

The rest of the centers will operate during normal hours. Citations will be issued against anyone who leaves trash at gates when facilities are closed.
