A sweet sendoff: Many of the county’s most prominent faces, and cute ones, showed up to give Connie Waller a proper send off Friday at the Newton County Administration Building. Waller worked at the county for 28 years promoting recycling and litter reduction; she helped form Keep Covington/Newton Beautiful and served as its executive director for many years. Waller retired after suffering a stress-related heart attack and is looking forward to taking life easy for a while.
