Toy soldiers: The Newton High School Marine Corps JROTC program is once again conducting the Toys for Tots Drive in support of the nationwide Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program. The JROTC also marched in Saturday’s downtown Christmas parade. All the public schools in Newton County, as well as the Bank of North Georgia and several other businesses have volunteered to be collection points for toy donations. Newton ROTC cadets will also be standing in front of the Super Wal-Mart and Big Lots for the next two weekends from noon to 4 p.m. receiving toys. Any toy nations must be new and unwrapped. All donations will go to help families in the Newton County area.
