The historic Cox Capitol Theatre
One tank trip

Recently, I headed south to Macon and the Cox Capitol Theatre, located in downtown Macon, at 368 Second St. The Cox Capitol Theatre was built in 1897, but closed shortly in 1900. The Strong Shoe Company purchased the building and remained there for more than 15 years. Today, the building serves as a movie theater as well as a live entertainment venue. It was Saturday night, and I was ready to rock when Jack Russell’s Great White took the stage. Great White originated as an ‘80s rock band that gained popularity during that decade and the early ‘90s with songs like "Once Bitten, Twice Shy" and "Save your Love."

The show was amazing. I watched as these veteran rock musicians rocked the crowd! The energy in the house was electrifying as Jack Russell and Great White took the crowd back to the "hair band" years of rock ’n’ roll.

If you missed this rocking event, don’t worry. There are many great shows coming up at the Cox Capitol Theatre. I recommend that you make plans for a short drive to Macon very soon and feel the music. For more info, check out www.coxcapitoltheatre.com.
