From Friday evening until Sunday morning, a small city of Boy Scouts will be encamped at Bert Adams Scout Reservation on Ga. Highway 36 South.

Between 4,000 and 5,000 Scouts are expected to attend this weekend’s "Campout of the Century." The event was organized in celebration of 100 years of Boy Scouting in America as well as in honor of the 50th anniversary of the opening of Bert Adams Scout Reservation.

Former Scouts and prospective Scouts and their families are invited to attend the event.

The Covington News will publish a commemorative local Scouts anniversary section in Sunday’s edition. Readers may submit their favorite memories at Bert Adams through Thursday by e-mailing news@covnews.com.
