Two Newton County teens have been arrested and charged with the Tuesday afternoon armed robbery of S&S Package Store.

Girvin Jackson IV, 18, and Eric Lydvonn Sims, 17 were arrested Thursday morning. Jackson was said to be wearing a SpongeBob mask (previously reported as an Angry Birds mask), and Sims was wearing an Iron Man mask during the robbery. According to previous reports, the two went into the store, produced a white bag and, when the clerk didn’t understand what they wanted, produced a handgun, which was recovered by investigators.

“Thanks to the hard work of Detective Jeff Bruno, the entire Criminal Investigation Division, and our patrol team, these two dangerous individuals are off the street,” said CPD Captain Ken Malcom in a press release.
