A Newton County teen was cited after authorities reportedly found him drunk on Oakwood Lane Monday night.

Deputies from the Newton County Sheriff’s Office were called out to a family fight in the front yard of a home after dispatch operators received several calls from neighbors in the area. When they arrived, they didn’t see anyone in the yard and went to the door in the hopes of speaking with the family.

A woman answered the door and reportedly said her daughter had been in an argument with her boyfriend, later identified as 17-year-old Vincent Williamson. She said Williamson was drunk and possibly walking in the area heading to his home on Rocky Plains Road.

The woman’s daughter allegedly told deputies she and Williamson was at a party in the neighborhood and that Williamson “drank beer and took two muscle relaxers,” then began to argue with her. When deputies asked the girl if Williamson became physical with her, she reportedly said “she didn’t want me to take Vincent to jail because he was only acting that way because he is drunk.”

Deputies were able to locate Williamson and transport him back to the Oakwood Lane home. They could allegedly smell alcohol coming from him and noticed he was slurring his speech. They also noted he was bleeding from the knuckles of his right hand. When asked, he told deputies he had hit a tree, according to reports. Williamson also admitted that he’d had two beers and two Lortabs at the party.

He was arrested and charged with consumption of alcoholic beverages by a minor.
