Springfield Baptist Church, with the help of Goodwill of North Georgia and the Georgia Department of Labor, will host its second annual career expo March 27.
The expo is open to the public, but military veterans get priority admittance, and will feature around 40 employers, educational institutions and resource agencies that provide assistance to job seekers. The expo will be from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Springfield Baptist, 1877 Iris Drive, Conyers.
The employers will be either hiring or discussing future employment opportunities, while other organizations will provide educational resources and other advice.
“Applicants must bring plenty resumes and be prepared to fill out company applications and interview for available jobs,” according to the press release. “Attendees are encouraged to dress appropriately to improve their opportunities for jobs.”
Staff from the Veterans Unit at labor department’s DeKalb Career Center and Goodwill’s Decatur Career Center will be available to assist veterans and other job seekers with employment-related services as well.
The groups represented include: AFLAC, Airservcorp, Allied Barton Security Services, Apollo Staffing, Art Institute of Atlanta, Avon, Brenau University, Care Master Medical Services, Cintas, DeKalb County Police Department, DeKalb County 911, Department of Juvenile Justice, Department of Veterans Administration – Atlanta Vet Center, Employment Seeker, Enterprise Holdings, Family Bridge Healthcare, FBI, Federal Bureau of Prisons, Georgia Department of Veteran Services, Georgia Department of Driver Services, Georgia Vocational Rehabilitation, General Services Administration, Georgia Piedmont Technical College, Georgia State University, Goodwill Human Resources, Hire Dynamics, Home Depot, Institute of Veterans Health, Kwik Jobs, Lowe’s, New Horizons Computer Learning, O’Reilly Auto Parts, Perimeter Staffing Placements, RR Donnelley, Sodexo, United Rentals, University of Phoenix and WEBMD.
