Spring Ministries, Inc., a non-profit organization that helps single parents and their children, will hold a fundraiser dinner at 5 p.m. on July 30 at DeKalb Tech's Newton Center, 8100 Bob Williams Parkway, Covington.

Tickets are $25, available at www.springministriesinc.com.

Terri Webster is chief executive officer and founder of Spring Ministries. She knows first-hand the hardships faced by single parents, as she experienced the life and struggles of a single mom for 19 years as she raised her son and daughter.
"We are very excited about this adventure with the Lord, as he leads us in coming alongside single parent families in our community, to help them rebuild their lives following an uprooting and devastating life event," she said.
Single mothers and fathers who seek assistance through this ministry must be referred by a church elder, pastor, missions director or other church leader. Applications will be reviewed by a small panel of people who have a vested interest in the ministry.
"We are here to offer numerous practical helps, to include emotional and spiritual support, career and educational guidance and counseling services by highly-trained individuals," said Webster.
The "Kindle House" will provide a home for a two-year maximum stay while residents restore and rebuild their lives. It will be at 11967 Georgia Highway 212 in Covington, a seven-acre property that will be home to three family units initially.
Spring Ministries welcomes church and community partnerships, including financial support, job placement, and prayer partners, hands-on in terms of construction, painting, landscape, and garden. The ministry is also accepting donations of new or slightly-used household and office furnishings, professional clothing, playground equipment and transportation. Tax receipts will be provided.
Spring Ministries. is accepting applications for resident housemothers who can work shifts seven days a week. Candidates must be flexible, pass an extensive background check, have excellent references and prior experience as a housemother or in single parent ministries.
"We invite you to join with us as we follow God's passion for these families," said Webster."
