Feb. 21 is the last day to register to vote on next month’s SPLOST referendum. The election is March 21.
According to the Newton County Board of Elections, early voting will begin Feb. 27 and run through March 17 at the Newton County Administration Building. Polls will be open 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
There will be no voting on the Monday prior to the election. On March 21, voters should go to their assigned voting place. The Board of Elections said that all 22 polling locations will be open 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. on Election Day.
The Board of Elections is currently accepting applications for absentee ballots.
