A Social Circle woman was killed Saturday night, in a one-vehicle crash on Ga. Highway 11.

Cathy Denise Howell, 42, succumbed to injuries sustained in the accident Sunday morning at Atlanta Medical Center, where she had been taken following the crash, according to the Georgia Department of Public Safety.

According to reports, Howell was driving a Ford F-150 southbound on Ga. Highway 11 around 10 p.m., when she attempted to negotiate a curve in the road. She crossed the center line, traveled into a ditch, struck a culvert and a utility pole, and overturned several times. Speed was a factor in the crash.
