A Jackson woman now faces a charge of simple battery after she reportedly fought with her roommate.

A report said an NCSO deputy responded to a home on South River Drive in Jackson, where a woman told the deputy that she had been arguing with her roommate all day.

The woman said the argument became physical when her roommate pushed her to the ground, causing her to strike her head on a table and, according to NCSO Deputy Felicia Jefferson, started kicking her.

Jefferson said the deputy was able to gather enough probable cause to arrest the woman, later identified as Tara McDonald, due to the victim’s injuries.McDonald was taken to the Newton County Jail.
