Resurfacing to begin again Tues. on I-20

Pittman Construction expects to restart resurfacing work Tuesday on Interstate 20 between mile marker 102 and 105 in Morgan County, while weekend work in Newton County between mile marker 98 and 93.6 will run from 9 a.m. April 20 through 6 a.m. April 23.

Motorist can expect daily lane closures and short delays, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation, which also motorists to slow down and be especially attentive and cautious as they pass through this and all construction work zones.

Pittman Construction Company and E. R. Snell Contractor were awarded this $27 million project, which consists of 19.5 miles of milling and resurfacing, beginning east of Ga. Highway 142 in Newton County and extending east of Ga. Highway 83 in Morgan County.
