Rental assistance information available during Newton board meeting
Department of Community Affairs

COVINGTON, Ga. — Representatives of the Georgia Department of Community Affairs will give information about the Georgia Rental Assistance Program to Newton County commissioners and the public Tuesday, Sept. 21.

Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA) will inform the Board of Commissioners (BOC) on the rental assistance program during the Chairman’s Report portion of the BOC's 7 p.m. Regular Meeting, a news release stated.

Following the report an information table will be set up on the second floor of the Newton County Historic Courthouse at 1124 Clark St. in Covington. DCA representatives will provide information and answer any questions the public may have regarding rental assistance.

The BOC meeting will also be streamed live on for those who cannot make it or wish to maintain distance. The meeting will also be posted to the county website, and kept on our YouTube channel after the meeting.

“If you or anyone you know needs rental assistance, please, please come or tune in Tuesday to find out more information,” Newton County Chairman Marcello Banes said. “There are funds available to help make sure everyone gets the assistance needed as we continue to navigate these difficult times. I want to do everything I can to make sure everyone who needs help has the information they need to get it.”
