LITHONIA - DeKalb County police say a pregnant woman was killed and her husband was injured when shots were fired outside a DeKalb County apartment complex.

Police spokesman Darrien Thomas says two men opened fire on the couple at the complex near Lithonia early Sunday.

Thomas says witnesses told police the couple had gotten out of their vehicle and were walking toward a building when they were ambushed.

Police say two people apparently involved in the shooting left the complex in a vehicle. They say the husband and wife were taken to a hospital, where the woman died.
