Newton Medical Center Board of Director Chairman D.L. (Pete) Knox and his wife were involved in a car accident near Macon Friday evening.

According to Dalton Knox, his mother is in hospice care and may pass in the next few days.

She was placed in intensive care in a Macon hospital after the accident. 

Pete Knox and his wife have been active in the Newton Community, especially Newton Medical Center, where the Knox Surgical Center is named in their honor.
