Update, 1:32 p.m.: Power was restored to the Conyers Walmart and all 1,400 Snapping Shoals customers at 1:24 p.m. The outage occurred at 12:40 p.m. and was caused by a material failure and was unrelated to the weather, Snapping Shoals spokesperson Leigh-Anne Burgess said in an e-mail.

Original Story, 1:22 p.m.: The Conyers Walmart and 1,400 residential Snapping Shoals customers are out of power in the area including Old Covington and Gees Mill roads.

Snapping Shoals spokesperson Leigh-Anne Burgess said crews are working to restore the power and that she would have more details in 20 minutes.
