On Oct. 2 breast cancer survivors and their friends and families gathered at the Historic Courthouse in Covington for the Portraits of Hope Reception.

Portraits of Hope are a collaboration of the Newton Medical Women's Diagnostic Center and Main Street Covington to place photographs of breast cancer survivors in storefront windows on the square along with personal accounts of their struggle.

At the Portraits of Hope reception, which featured the Shades of Pink breast cancer survivor choir, $485 was raised for digital mammography equipment and the Hope Boutique.
