Oxford has a new budget year and a new council member.

David Eady was sworn in as the Post 4 representative on Monday evening during a called meeting of the city council.

In other business, the council approved a city budget of $4,078,130 and agreed to a change in the city fiscal year to begin on July 1 instead of Jan. 1.

Eady was appointed earlier in the month to serve the remainder of Sue Dale's term on the council. She had served 18 months of a four-year term. Eady has served as chair of the planning commission.
