Members of the Order of Eastern Star Madison Chapter recently donated much needed clinic supplies to Mansfield Elementary School.

"The Worthy Grand Matron over the State of Georgia is a retired school teacher and she asked that we support our local schools by providing supplies," said Barbara Ewing, a member of the Order of Eastern Star Madison Chapter, which meets on the square in Covington. "We chose to help Mansfield Elementary. I have been driving a school bus for this school for 12 years and my grandchildren went through the school, so it's very special to me."

Ewing said school officials notified her of a need for clinic supplies so the group provided a table full of supplies, including Band-Aids, gauze pads, ace bandages, latex gloves and other general clinic supplies.

"We are very appreciative to the members of the Order of the Eastern Star for the donations made to our clinic," said Lynne DiNardo, principal of Mansfield Elementary. "This will benefit all of our students. The support of community organizations helps to ensure the successfulness of our school and we are very grateful."
