The Arts Association of Newton County and Covington Regional Ballet will hold auditions for "The Nutcracker’’ Sept. 14 at the ballet’s studio, 1114 College Ave., Covington. Performances of the holiday classic will be Dec. 14 and 15.

The audition schedule Saturday is: 1–1:30 p.m. for kindergartners and first-graders; and 1:30–2 p.m. for grades 2–4.

Girls should be dressed in leotards, tights, and pink-leather ballet shoes, with their hair in a bun.

Boys should wear gym shorts/pants, T-shirts and socks.

The $125 fee is due Dec. 13. Scholarships are available.
