The body of missing Newton County resident Ralph Michael Garland was found in Jackson Lake Saturday by a search party organized by his family. His remains were found within sight of his residence.

Garland, 56, had been missing since March 3 and was known to have a medical condition that make walking difficult. An autopsy is scheduled for later this week at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's crime lab.

The Sheriff's office said there are no signs of foul play, thanked the community for their assistance, and expressed condolences to Garland's family.
