Authorities are investigating Tuesday's double homicide on Tempie Lane where 66-year-old Peggy Molden and her 56-year-old nephew Donald Eugene McCollough were found shot to death after authorities received a medical alert from inside the home around 9:30 a.m.

When deputies from the Newton County Sheriff's Office and EMS personnel arrived, they could reportedly see one person down inside the home. Once they forced their way inside, they found the second person.

A middle-aged black male and an older black female were pronounced dead at the scene, victims of obvious gunshot wounds, according to Newton County Lt. Keith Crum. The deaths are not being investigated as murder/suicide, but as homicides.

The NCSO, along with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are working the case. Anyone with information is asked to contact the NCSO at (678) 625-1400 or online at www.newtonsheriffga.org. All tips can be given anonymously.
