Newton guard Derrick Henry scored his 1,500 career point in the Rams' 61-40 win at Langston Hughes Tuesday. His 22 points propelled the Rams to their seventh straight region win on the year and 24th straight dating back to 2008.

The last time the Rams lost to a region opponent was in the opening round of the 2008 region tournament, Henry's sophomore season.

Henry, a three-year starter for the Rams, is averaging 22 points per game and has averaged 20 for his career. He tied a career high with 32 against Luella in last week's 19-point road win.
