Straight shooting: The Lake Oconee Shotgun Team (L.O.S.T.) traveled to the World Shooting and Recreation Complex in Sparta, Ill., July 23-26 to compete in the Scholastic Clay Target Program’s (SCTP) National Championships. L.O.S.T. represented Georgia well by finishing strong in several age groups: The Rookie Squad (5th-6th graders) as well as the Senior Varsity Squad finished second in the nation in their respective divisions in Sporting Clays. The Junior Varsity Squad, pictured above, also finished third in their division in Sporting Clays and followed up with a first place national championship in Skeet. Wesley Brooks, center, is a resident of Newton County.
