The Newton County National Association for the Advancement of Colored People will host its Annual Freedom Fund and Scholarship Gala at 6 p.m., Saturday at the Turner Lake Recreation Complex.

This year’s theme is “Affirming America’s Promise,” and the speaker will be state representative and author Alisha Thomas Morgan.
