Michelle Nunn, widely expected to be the Democratic candidate for the vacant U.S. Senate seat this November, stopped by Porterdale Sunday for a fundraising event.
There were about 150 people in attendance at the event, which took place in the newly reopened Porter Memorial Gym. The event was put on by 37 local sponsors. Nunn, the daughter of famous former U.S. senator Sam Nunn and CEO of the Points of Light foundation, is one of four Democrats seeking their party’s spot in the November election to replace outgoing Republican Sen. Saxby Chambliss.
Her Democratic competition features Steen Miles, Branko Radulovacki and Todd Robinson, while the Republican side features a crowded and heated race.
