A 21-year-old man was found dead in the Newton County work release facility Saturday morning.

Ricky Ricardo Gibbs had checked into the facility Friday night and was found unresponsive in his cell at 9:48 a.m. Saturday morning, according to Georgia Bureau of Investigation spokesman John Bankhead. Jailers called 911 but when EMS arrived Gibbs was already dead.

An autopsy was conducted at the GBI crime lab Monday which indicated no signs of trauma or any indications of foul play. Results of the autopsy are pending toxicology reports.
