A 51-year-old man from Rex, Ga., was arrested on Dec. 23 and charged with child molestation.

According to Newton County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Lt. Tyrone Oliver, a 12-year-old girl came forward and reported that Alfred Elijah Jones had touched her inappropriately when she went over to a home he was staying at in Newton County.

The alleged molestation occurred on Nov. 5.

Jones is currently being held at the Newton County Detention Center with a $10,000 property bond as of press time.
