A fight between a woman’s husband and her brother ended with both men arrested and the female with a busted lip.
Officers from the Covington Police Department were called to the home on Geiger Street after a neighbor called 911 reporting that several people were fighting with weapons. When they arrived, they found a green car parked in the middle of the intersection of Geiger and Moore streets with three people reportedly standing by it.
After separating the three, officers spoke first with the female who it was reported had a swollen and bleeding bottom lip. She allegedly told the officers that she and her husband, identified as Henry Arnold, were driving to pick up her brother, Craig Williams, from Flat Shoals Road. On the drive over, Arnold reportedly began accusing the victim of cheating on him and allegedly smacked her in the mouth. The woman reportedly told the officer that when they picked her brother up, she was crying.
Williams reportedly asked his sister why she was crying and he and Arnold got into an argument while she was driving them back to her home, according to reports. Allegedly, she told officers that she wanted to stop and get gas but that her husband kept cursing and screaming at her to keep going. The woman allegedly told officers that when she turned onto Geiger Street, her brother told her to stop the car because he wanted to get out of the vehicle.
While her brother told her to stop, her husband reportedly kept screaming at her to drive. Williams allegedly opened the door to the vehicle and tried to jump out, at which point she stopped driving, according to reports.
Williams allegedly ran to the vehicle behind them and told the woman inside to call 911 and report that Arnold was beating his sister.
According to reports, Williams then told his sister to get into the car of the woman behind them, but when she tried, the woman would not let her inside her car. The woman reportedly told officers she did not allow her in the car as she feared for her safety. She said that shortly after that, officers arrived on the location.
Williams was arrested on a outstanding warrant and Arnold was arrested and charged with Family Violence Act battery and disorderly conduct.
