MONROE, Ga. — Investigators in Walton and Greene counties say they believe a Loganville man killed his ex-wife, then died at a relative's home.

Walton County authorities say 52-year-old Robert Cook was staying with his ex-wife, 60-year-old Judy Clay, when Cook strangled her with an electrical cord.

Greene County sheriff's deputies found Cook's remains Jan. 9 and asked Walton County deputies to notify his ex-wife.

Authorities say that when deputies arrived at Clay's Walton County home, they found her body inside.

Walton County Capt. Chris Cannon says both deaths are under investigation and investigators don't know whether Cook took his own life or died accidentally.
