This Saturday, Mansfield Baptist Church will host a run to benefit Operation Christmas Child, a nonprofit organization that provides under privileged children in other countries with Christmas gifts and offers to children the word of God.

The event will start at 7:30 a.m. The 1-mile Fun Run will begin the day ($12) and a 5K Race at 8 a.m. ($20). To register for both, the cost is $25. All runners will receive a long-sleeved T-shirt.

Also happening on Saturday, a fall festival will be held at Newton Baptist Church from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The festival will include a trunk-or-treat, carnival games, face painting, a hay ride, fun inflatables, a hot dog dinner and a cake walk. There is no cost for the festival. Newton Baptist Church is located at 720 Jack Neely Road.
