Lithonia woman killed in I-20 wreck

A Lithonia woman died in a two-vehicle wreck Monday night that blocked westbound lanes on Interstate 20 near the Almon Road exit for several hours, according to 1st Lt. Mark Mitchell with the Newton County Sheriff's Office.

Recabie Riviere, 38, of Lithonia, was killed when her Toyota Corolla, which was in the emergency lane, was struck by a Ford van driven by 47-year-old Edmund Rudisill of Mableton. He was taken to an Atlanta hospital for treatment of minor injuries, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

Georgia State Patrol is still determining the cause of the accident and charges are pending the completion of the investigation.
