Each Wednesday from Aug. 12 through Sept. 2, the Covington Branch of the Newton County Library System will be holding free computer classes for adults. Each week, different aspects of computer use will be covered.

The first class (Aug. 12 at 9:30 a.m., 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.) will be a basic computer class where participants will be introduced to all the components of a computer. The second class (Aug. 19 at 9:30 a.m., 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.) will be on how to use the Internet and use an e-mail account (sign up, sending and receiving). The third class (Aug. 26 at 9:30 a.m., 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.) will be "Introduction to Microsoft Word," which will teach the basic skills to use the word processing program. The fourth class (Sept. 2 at 9:30 a.m., 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.) will be a continuation of the Word class and how to attach files to an email.

These hands-on classes are free to the public, but space is limited. Please sign up at the Information Desk in the library or call (770) 787-3231.
