KCNBs Green Getaway

The Green Getaway, an evening of dining and entertainment scheduled for Nov. 6 at 6 p.m. at Charlie Elliott Wildlife Center, will benefit the educational programs and beautification efforts of Keep Covington/Newton Beautiful (KCNB).

The entertainment will include a silent auction, a verbal auction, and an "Elvis" concert with dancing, featuring local Elvis, Mark Eskew.

Green Getaway Chairperson, Dr. Leslie Lathem, encourages everyone to support KCNB by coming out to Charlie Elliott to see "Elvis."

"Mark was here last year, and he was great," Lathem said. "The evening is truly a getaway — a way to escape busy schedules, the economy, the work of everyday, and just enjoy a fun evening of dinner and dancing, while supporting a good cause at the same time."

The auction will include an array of interesting items ranging from dinners and trips to gift baskets with items donated by local and regional businesses, specialty shops, and celebrities. A Jackson Lake soiree, a guided birdwatch, and a stay at a mountain home top the list. A limousine ride and gift card to Buckhead Life Group and a gourmet tailgate party are also available.

For more information about auction items or to purchase tickets, please call KCNB at (770) 784-2015, send e-mail to newtonclean@co.newton.ga.us or visit KCNB’s new website, www.kcnb.biz. Tickets are $50 each and only available for a few more days.
