Investigators are looking for three men who witnesses say displayed a handgun and possibly fired it at their vehicle.
In the early morning hours of Jan. 10, a man was stopped at a stop sign at Cowan and Oak Hill Road when a black Chevrolet Cavalier pulled next to him. The vehicle was reportedly occupied by three black men — two of which had dread locks, according to witnesses.
Reports indicate that one of the men in the Chevrolet produced a black gun and the other two men in the vehicle allegedly began screaming and shaking their heads. The witness reportedly stepped on the gas and pulled in front of the Chevrolet, then sped away.
According to reports, as the victim was leaving the area, he heard a gun shot behind him. After arriving home, he noticed his back window was shattered.
The case remains under investigation and Newton County Sheriff’s Office investigators are asking the public for help.
