Interstate 20 eastbound from Salem Road (exit 84) to Almon Road (exit 88) is down to one lane at the moment because of both a Georgia State Patrol investigation of a previous fatality on the interstate and some maintenance by the Georgia Department of Transportation.

A second lane should be open by noon, and the third lane is scheduled to be open by 2 p.m., according to GDOT officials.
