Hunting for Easter eggs
Placeholder Image
On the hunt: Excited Palmer-Stone Elementary kindergarten students crossed the street to the Quad at Oxford College Thursday morning to gather Easter eggs. At the sound of a whistle, the smiling students raced to gather candy- and sometimes money-filled eggs hidden in the grass, trees and plants. Afterwards, the kindergarten classes enjoyed lunch and the beautiful weather before returning to school.

Here comes Peter Cottontail: The Easter Bunny himself helped drop thousands of colorful Easter eggs from a helicopter onto Legion Field Saturday afternoon. The large crowd of children and their parents charged the field as soon as the helicopter was a safe distance away, and within only a few minutes, the bright eggs that had dotted the field were all collected. Before leaving Legion Field, the children traded in their collected eggs for a bag of candy from First Baptist Church of Covington, who sponsored the Egg Drop.
