The Newton County Sheriff's Office filed police reports regarding air conditioner thefts from vacant homes in Lakeside Crossing early Saturday.

An officer received information regarding an air conditioning unit theft that occurred the night before and went to speak with the complainant.

According to the report, a light blue Chevrolet pickup truck, possibly a 1987 or 1988 model, was seen begin driven up and down the street before it was parked behind the house from which the unit was stolen.

The truck emerged from behind the house with three or four air conditioning units in the bed of the truck, according to the report.

Air conditioning units were missing at three other locations, all of which were empty houses.

Two other reports were filed Friday and Saturday regarding air conditioner thefts in Newton County.
