ROSWELL - A hostage standoff at a Roswell apartment building ended when police set off concussion grenades and entered the building.

Roswell police Lt. James McGee says no one was injured in the operation Tuesday morning. Police arrested one man.

McGee says police initially believed that two men were holding three people hostage, but he says only one suspect was found when police went in.

He says a hostage escaped before police entered the apartment.

He says police had been patrolling the area and were nearby when the original call came in. He says shots were fired and officers called for a SWAT team.

McGee says the suspect had burrowed through a wall, apparently trying to get outside to a nearby forest.
