Holiday road work

To help motorists better enjoy July 4 and the holiday weekend, the Georgia Department of Transportation said it is restricting construction-related lane closures from noon on Wednesday, July 3, through 5 a.m. on Monday, July 8.
Georgia DOT reminds travelers to exercise caution due to the heavy holiday traffic that is expected throughout the state.

Though lanes won’t be closed, crews may still be working in close proximity to highways, and safety concerns may dictate that some long-term lane closures remain in place.
