The Newton County Sheriff’s Department is seeking help from the community in locating the person who stuck a pedestrian on Brown Bridge Road Sunday night.

According to reports, a person driving past the area noticed an Asian woman lying on the side of the road at roughly 8 p.m. She was curled into a fetal position.

"All we know at this point is that deputies found some evidence of what was possibly a pedestrian accident. That’s all we have right now," said NCSO 1st Lt. Mark Mitchell.

The vehicle that struck the woman was not stopped nor identified. It is possibly a Chevrolet or GMC truck, according to the report.

The victim was transported to Atlanta Medical Center by ground ambulance and the case is currently under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the NCSO at (678) 625-1400 or to leave a tip online at http://sheriff.co.newton.ga.us. All tips can remain anonymous.
