Helicopter egg drop will be April 7

The Avenue Church will host an inaugural helicopter egg drop April 7 at the South Walton Recreaton Complex, Social Circle. Over 10,000 plastic Easter eggs will be dropped.

There will be three separate drops -- one for toddler-4 year olds, a second for 5-7 year olds and the third drop for 8-12 year olds. The hunts on each field will be staggered by 20 minutes. Once the eggs are on the field, children will be able to hunt for eggs in their designated age area. After all the eggs are found, the children can take them to an area to redeem them for candy.

Food vendors such Chick-fil-a, BBQ & Papa's Pizza will sell food, and Snow Cone treats will be on sale for dessert. Inflatables have been donated for the day by The Avenue Church and will be available to the kids for free. The helicopter may just be on-site after the final drop, and you can take a ride with family or a friend!
Several prizes will be given throughout the day to children who have registered.

The church is planning for thousands of people to be in attendance for this year's egg drop. "We're working very hard to make our first year's event the best it can be. We'll have tons of volunteers on site serving the families," said Bryan Hoover, lead pastor of The Avenue Church.

In order to hunt and be eligible for give-a-ways, children must register when they arrive at the registration tents and should arrive by 11 a.m.

"The Avenue Church has always been about serving the community, and we think providing a great, free event like the Egg Drop is a great way to bring the community together and enjoy a fun day," said Hoover. For more information, find the event on Facebook or email us at info@theavenuechurch.tv.
