Earth Day festivities will be held today on the quad fronting Seney Hall at Oxford College.

The event will feature informational displays, a screening of a documentary on Georgia's new wave of farmers and a gourmet Popsicle vendor, according to Raghu Patil, sustainability coordinator for the college.
The film "Grow!" by the husband-and-wife team of Anthony-Masterson will be screened at 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. on the fourth floor conference room of Seney Hall.
Other events will be held from noon to 2 p.m. in front of Seney Hall.

Information will be available on the Georgia Conservancy and the Montessori School of Covington will have its organic produce and products available, including its lip balm and soap.

Zipcar, which provides low-cost vehicle rental services, will promote its services, and The King of Pops will be there to craft all-natural, eco-friendly, gourmet frozen treats.

Two programs for students will be promoted.
One asks students to donate books to support literacy around the world.

The second asks students at move-out time next month to donate personal items instead of dumping them. Bags and collection points will be offered and items will be sold at a flea market this summer on the main campus, with proceeds benefitting relief efforts in Japan.
